RALEIGH - A state audit accuses the former director of a North Carolina domestic violence center of altering documents, failing to account for expenses and having "erotic photographs" of herself on her computer.
State Auditor Les Merritt said Wednesday the executive director of "Life After Life" in Hoke County was fired after an internal investigation. Merritt said she may have violated state law because the program received state grants. Her name wasn't included in the report.
The report said she altered paperwork to help get an $18,000 bank loan for the program this year. Merritt's office said $23,000 in expenditures either weren't documented or authorized.
The audit said the former director said she had suggestive pictures of herself on the computer to e-mail to her military husband overseas.
